What To Notice When Arranging A Christian Funeral

A Christian funeral service is usually carried out when a Christian passes on. This ceremony is mainly done to provide closure to the friends and family of the deceased. It is also a dignified way of saying farewell to the deceased.

Choose a venue where the ceremony will be held. This can either be in a church, crematorium, private residence, or anywhere else that is convenient. You will also need to find a Pastor to officiate the ceremony. If the deceased was affiliated to any particular church, approach his Pastor first. If the deceased did not attend any particular church, ask for referrals from close friends about which church to use.

During the ceremony, the Pastor will welcome the attendees. He will then proceed to give a sermon, drawn from the bible. You can get one of the deceased's friends or relatives to do the bible readings.

Allow individuals to make special presentations. This includes any poems or songs that someone may want to perform. Having a eulogy is also important. A eulogy highlights the life of the individual and how their life affected the life of the people around them. Have a picture of the deceased strategically placed during the ceremony.

The pastor will then proceed to close the ceremony by praying for the bereaved and to give thanks for the life of the deceased. The congregation can then proceed to sing a hymn or hymns as the coffin is carried out. The attendees can be given a few moments to think about the life of the individual at the end of the ceremony.

Before the end of the Christian funeral service, make any required announcements. This is to give further guidance to the attendees about the next part of the program. You can let them know where the final resting place of the deceased will be. Prayers of final committal are made at the graveside as the coffin is lowered into the grave.
