What You Should Know When Organizing A Christian Memorial Service

Christians view death as a transition from earthly life into eternity. Usually, when someone dies, their friends and relative want to plan a Christian funeral service, as a form of farewell to the deceased. You can opt to have the ceremony in a church or in a crematorium.

One of the first things you will need to do is to contact a Pastor and inform them of the passing away of your loved one. If the deceased used to attend a particular church, it would be best to talk to their Pastor. If they deceased did not belong to any particular church, then ask for referrals from a funeral home or friends on which Pastor and church to get in touch with.

Allocate time for Bible readings and a sermon. The minister will talk about the deceased and encourage the bereaved from verses drawn from the bible. A friend or family member can be given the responsibility of reading the Bible verses.

Special songs and poems can be performed. Organize this with the presenters beforehand. Also, allow time for a eulogy to be given by a close friend or family member. This is to provide an overview of the life of the deceased. Having the most recent photo of the deceased during the ceremony is advisable.

Prayers are then said. These are prayers to thank God for the life of the person and for comfort to the bereaved. The congregation can be given a moment to reflect on the life of the deceased or death in general. The coffin is then taken out of the church.

At the end of a Christian funeral service, announcements should be made before the attendees leave church. Provide any essential information on the final burial arrangements. Inform attendees where the burial will take place and when.
